Can the Dark Triad be detected in personality tests?
There is a lot of writing about The Dark Triad in VG, Dagbladet and other popular media. Especially two of the terms - Psychopathy and Narcissism. Most often linked to leaders who acidify a work environment and destroy business. How can employers try to avoid recruiting candidates with tendencies in this direction? And is it only the Dark Triad that we should be wary of? 🐍 😱

What is recruitment like without Assessments? 🤔
Skeptics still point out that Assessments do not measure perfectly. But do they have a better alternative? 📈 Do we drop the medications if we are not 100% sure that they work? No, most often not, but we try to choose the medications that work best. And we choose a doctor with a good reputation and renown (if we have the opportunity to do so). 🏆 This should be the case with choosing tests and test users too. Choose a recognized test that is adapted to recruitment, that is scientifically based and that has undergone many validation studies. 🎓And remember, the test is never better than the test user! Be sure that the person who performs the testing for you knows the test(s), connects them to the requirements profile for the position and is concerned with good test ethics towards the candidates being tested. 🏹 Rolling the dice is of course not an alternative, but relying mostly on gut feeling is not a good alternative either. Even though many people believe that their gut feeling is extra good!

Cheating in an interviewShould you be completely yourself in an interview if it means you might not get the job? 🤥😇 How common is it to "put on" a little extra in an interview? Article worth reading from the New York Times! PS: In the article they write, among other things, that "Research has shown that Americans are more likely to consider using deceptive interview tactics than Western Europeans". But we naive, gullible Nordics should probably not shrug our shoulders completely... Use good, structured and accurate methods for recruiting! Do background checks and contact several references! You can never be completely sure, and then we are much better equipped against wrong recruitment.

Do you have an idiot on the board?Webinar June 3, 2021 Are you on a board with someone who annoys the hell out of you? 😖😡 How should you handle board members you experience as having little constructive behavior in the boardroom? Together with Ingvild Myhre from iStyrelsen, as well as Orgbrain, Margrethe Hillesland from HiPotential will discuss this important topic on June 3 that is often difficult to know how to handle. The title of the webinar may seem provocative to many as it is wrong to label others as "idiots". Although the title is pointedly worded, the topic is important. How to handle board members who have negative behavior in the boardroom? Can so-called "idiots" actually be an enrichment for the board as it brings in greater diversity? A board group usually does not know each other well enough to be comfortable giving feedback on personal style and communication. Nor do they know each other well enough to know others' preferences and what lies behind their behavior. This can create a bad board climate.

Could your strongest sides be standing in your way?It doesn't have to be that way! Read our article in Dagens Perspektiv about how you can become more aware of your own behavior in the boardroom and how to become a better version of yourself! Together with partner and program director for Board Performance at IStyrelsen AS, Pål Søland, Managing Director of HiPotential, Margrethe Hillesland writes about how the board group can get a better basis for good interaction and greater potential for success. By reducing the individual board member's "oversight" in the boardroom, the likelihood is greater that the strengths of each individual board member will emerge in the most optimal way ⭐

Paradoxically, AI could end up emphasizing the importance of the human side of leadershipYou might have thought that in these AI times, your personality and how you communicate and interact with others are becoming less and less important? Think again!! Since managers cannot outcompete machines when it comes to handling data, information, or well-defined problems, they will predominantly compete in terms of their ability to manage people, including themselves.
